The launch of studioBASAR’s publication Evicting the Ghost. Architectures of Survival (http://www.studiobasar.ro/?p=2027&lang=en) has take place on 15th of December 2010 at the Center for Visual Introspection in Bucharest, that was followed on 16th of December by a series of three public presentations as a continuation of the themes proposed by the book: Michelle Provoost (Crimson Architectural Historians, Rotterdam) - On makeability and social engineering in planning; from the 20th into the 21th Century, Sarah van Apeldoorn (FAST - The Foundation for Achieving Seamless Territory, Amsterdam) - On memory and heritage and Alex Axinte (studioBASAR, Bucharest) - Bucharest: the State of Uncertainty.
The subject found shelter and visibility during three days inside the Center for Visual Introspection, itself accommodated in the space of House of Art, located across the University of Architecture in Bucharest. The event-installation temporary squatted a current exhibition of the Center. The layout consisted in approximately 20 cardboard boxes used by our studio for transport and storage, inside of which we exposed the last four years archive of the project Evicting the Ghost: sketches, models, paper cuts, laws, prints, pictures. Outside we wrapped the gallery in blue foil written with the slogan title of the project.
